When considering hydrangea planting, the first thing you should do is
choose the type of hydrangea plant. Hydrangeas come in many different
varieties which order different heights and require you for an amount

to your landscape. First off, you want to figure out where you want to
plan it as this will help determine which specific species unique.
Hydrangeas can grow anywhere from 4 feet tall to 12 feet tall so,
depending on where you want a place in your landscape you’ll
need
to buy the appropriate height tree.
The hardest thing about planting hydrangea is actually choosing the
site. You need to consider how much sun area gets since most hydrangeas
like to be planted in full or partial sun. It’s best to find
a
spot that gets the full sun in the morning and then shade during the
afternoon.
You also want to be sure that the hydrangea will be protected from the
wind especially if you live in a spot that has high winds. The wind
will cause the foliage dry out and the plan to into her excess stress.
Take some time to know if there are windy areas in your yard and also
if there are more protected areas and plan your hydrangea planting
accordingly.
Soil is another consideration, you want to make sure that it is well
drained soil but that does retain some moisture. Hydrangeas will grow
in soil that have lower PH levels but you will notice that the
different amounts of PH and what’s in the soil will have a
direct
effect on the color of the flowers.
The best time of year for planting hydrangeas is during the early fall.
When you dig a hole for the plant make sure you place some compost
mixed in with the soil. Dig the hole to be about 24 inches wider than
the root ball.
You’ll find that hydrangeas require little maintenance. You
may
need to prune them a little bit and fertilize them twice a year.
Fertilization should be done at the end of the fall season and once in
the early spring. Use a slow release fertilizer and make sure you do
not over fertilize as this might cause the hydrangea to not bloom.
Hydrangea planting is one of the easiest garden chores, and will yield
you with a beautiful tree or bush that has large spectacular blooms to
enhance any landscape.
