Adding A Blue Dahlia Flower To Your Plantings

Adding a Blue Dahlia Flower to your garden can be a wonderful way to add some calming color to your yard. .

Blue and blue purple flowering plants of every shade are available as both perennials and annuals. You can plant all blue or purple plants in a cluster in one section of your garden for a unique effect.

When planting your Blue Dahlia Flower make sure you pay attention to the instructions for their planting, care and maintenance. While many flowers thrive in full sun, some prefer the shade so it is important to plant the flowers where they will grow best. A plant that needs full sun will not grow to your expectations if it is planted in the shade.

Make sure that you fertilize and water your Blue Dahlia Flower according to the instructions that came with the flower and you will be rewarded with big luscious blooms. Pinching off the dead flowers will help your plant to grow fuller.

Some other considerations when planting your Blue Dahlia Flower plant include:

  • Bloom Time – what timeframe the plant will flower in – planting flowers in the same areas that have different blooming times will insure a succession of blooms throughout the growing season.
  • Height – plant taller flowers in back and shorter ones in front to give your garden a more cultured look
