Landscaping Design

Landscaping design doesn't have to be difficult and you can keep it simple to start with and then go back later on and change things around or redo the area as you learn more about how you want your yard to look. It can be very relaxing in great fun and there is always something new to learn.

When starting your landscape design you want to start with the basics. Choose where you want your trees flowers and shrubs to go as well as with a place your walkways and whatever else you want in the yard. Don't get overwhelmed by having to design the whole yard as you can just do it one area at a time.

when you get an idea of how you want a particular spot to look make a few sketches or rough outline of it. This doesn't have to be a masterpiece, you can use geometric shapes like circles triangles and rectangles to lay out how the art should look. If you want to get her a better idea than you could try some landscape design software such as the software below:

Try to set you up into areas that have interest. Perhaps a circular garden in one section or rectangular garden beside the house. Go out and measure the areas so you can figure out how many and what types of plants you can put in each base. Remember when planning your garden or landscape that the taller flowers or shrubs should go in the back and less as a circular design in which case they will go in the middle.

Just because you have a rectangular area don't think that you need to plant things in neat little rows. You could try putting a bird bath in the center and spoke your flowers out and wheel circle. Use your imagination to create interesting areas within your landscape.

Try using different plants, and you can even mix in a few vegetables like cherry tomatoes in your flower garden. Don't be afraid to use plants planned in the ground as well as plants in pots to accent your landscape.

Remember to hear your arrangements by color, size and shape. Adding different levels can add interest especially if you are landscaping and area next to a fence.

Don't feel like you have to stick to just flowers in the garden area, you can use ornamental grasses and shrubs to add interest and texture to those areas.
